DOZO Events

The creators of Bon Odori Vilnius – events, experiences and spreading Japanese culture in Lithuania.

Behind DOZO Events stands Dominyka Kybartaitė – a Master's graduate in architecture, a creator, and one of the organisers of Bon Odori Vilnius. Her path to events has been varied – from architecture and interior design to Japanese food culture: in Vilnius she had founded the restaurants Tamago and Ondori Izakaya, and today she channels her experience and love of Japan into events and spreading Japanese culture in Lithuania.

Bon Odori Vilnius is created together with professional Japanese dancer Ayano Honda, who is also one of the festival organisers and a keeper of the Bon Odori tradition in Lithuania. During the festival, Ayano will introduce everyone to the Bon Odori dance on stage, teach the basic movements, and invite everyone into the shared dance circle.

Jelizaveta Aleksandrova is a director, producer and event organiser, who trained in film and the creative industries in Lithuania and Spain. For more than six years she has worked in film and events, having organised and contributed in various creative and production roles to more than 100 projects in Lithuania and abroad. Her professional experience includes projects for TV3 and LRT, as well as collaboration with recognised film, television and events-industry professionals in Lithuania and other countries.

At the "Bon Odori" festival, Jelizaveta is the creative and stage producer, host, and director of the performance "Sielos pabudimas" ("Awakening of the Soul").

DOZO Events is a chance to create not just events but experiences: spaces where people can meet, discover, taste, learn, and touch another culture, even briefly. Bon Odori Vilnius is just that – an invitation to learn something new about Japan over these two festival days, to learn the Bon Odori steps, and to carry a piece of Japanese philosophy into your everyday life.
